PARISH
LIFE
We are a
community of people who follow the way of Jesus in his One,
Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church in communion with the
Pope, the successor of St Peter.
The heart of our life is the worship of God at Mass. From
Mass we receive the grace and strength of God’s Holy Spirit
to live the life of Christ and to serve his world. We
welcome everyone to share our faith and mission.
Catholic
Womens League
The parish has an active branch of the Catholic Women’s
League and new members are very welcome. Meetings are held
on the second Monday of the month at 10.00 a.m. at Shipston
Church Centre.
Justice and Peace
The parish supports CAFOD and the Church’s concern for
justice and peace issues.
Young
People
There is a Children's Liturgy Group at the 10.00 a.m. Mass
on Sundays at Shipston.
A catechetical programme to prepare children and young
people for the sacraments of First Holy Communion and
Confirmation begins each year in September.
St Catharine's Catholic Primary School at Chipping Campden
serves our parish and the Head Teacher is always happy to
receive enquiries from parents for places at the school
which has been designated 'outstanding' by OFSTED. Blessed
George Napier School, Banbury and St Benedict's High
School, Alcester are our Catholic secondary schools.
Journey
into Faith
The parish priest is delighted to meet anyone who would
like to learn more about the Catholic faith and receive
instruction.
Ecumenism
We maintain warm and close relationships with the other
Christian communities in the parish. There are regular
gatherings and activities throughout the year. The parish
supports the Shipston Joint Churches Youth Project and its
full-time youth worker.
